Another design from renowned golf course architect Gene Hamm, Burning Ridge Golf Course in Conway (near Myrtle Beach) opened for play in 1988, undergoing extensive renovations in 2004 that earned it honors as both Myrtle Beach and South Carolina course of the year. With four sets of tees ranging from 4,724 yards to 6,780, the course is relatively short but one that demands well thought out and accurate shots.
A classic Myrtle Beach design, the course features tree-lined fairways, elevated greens and plenty of doglegs over bunkers and mounds. The layout provides a good variety of holes with water coming into play on some, some with hazards on the left of the green and others on the right, and doglegs that switch from left to right. Deep bunkers guard most greens. There are a few tricky holes, but for the most part, Burning Ridge is a straightforward course with enough challenges to make a rewarding round of golf for golfers of all skill levels. Featuring a great pro shop and a clubhouse with expansive decking to relax with a cool drink after a round of golf.

The course was the worst of the three we played. Fairways were like concrete. Not much grass.
