Tiger’s Eye Golf Links

One of the four Big Cat courses at Ocean Isle Resort, Tiger’s Eye is another of prolific golf architect Tim Cate’s designs and incorporates native grasses, 40 acres of water and big waste areas.

Reminiscent to many of Pinehurst and other Sandhill region courses, the course offers a variety of holes along the water with up to 60-feet change in elevation. The Par-3 No. 2 plays over water to a steeply elevated green with steep slopes on two sides waiting to funnel your ball away while the par-3 No.11 plays out to a large island tee needing 165 yards from the back tees to carry.

For many, however, the course’s par-4 No. 4, a 422-yard dogleg left, is a favorite, giving them an optional shortcut over water. Success means an approach shot using a wedge instead of a mid-iron or even wood a large tiered green.

Playing at 7,014 from the tips, the course has five sets of tees with the shortest measuring 4,502. The course has a 20,000-square-foot clubhouse and practice area with multiple greens, a chipping green, and a driving range.
